Under the Kishoreganj sadar upazila, the number 8 Maria Union Parishad was established. Union Parishad is logically recognized as the local government unit. In order to achieve development activities at the grassroots level, UP has been given more responsibility and assistance. Based on the advice of the concerned citizens of the Union Council, on the advice of the concerned citizens and through the joint efforts of the UPGP, the problem determination, demand and resources of the area are ensured due to the active involvement of all sections of the people through the 9 ward meetings of the union. I have done these tasks from the presence of myself in every ward meeting.
After reviewing the proposals of the public according to the demand of the public in the open meeting of nine wards of the union, the five-year implementation plan of the development projects selected in the general council of the Union Parishad was prepared. The union plan was formulated with the information and development plans received from the respective government departments involved in development activities of union council.
The Planning Coordination Committee (PCC) was formed through the workshop to prepare the five-year development plan book. The Planning Coordination Committee (PCC) was able to publish such a five-year development plan in full support. The plan book will be marked as a groundbreaking milestone blade. Through this, the minimum level of local government will be the Union Parishad more dynamic, powerful and accountable. I believe that taxation and the use of local resources will be ensured. This long-term plan will be able to meet the basic needs of the union's people. In the development plan, it has been attempted to prepare the book with the importance of sustainable development targets (SDGs) and the two subjects of the poor.
If we keep pace with the world in this age of globalization, we need to build ourselves based on knowledge and technology. One of the 39 functions of the Union Parishad directed by the government is the Five-Year Development Plan. Since the demand received from the people through the ward meeting, we have taken initiative to publish a five-year program for public welfare from the year 2016-2017 to the year 2020-2021 fiscal year. I hope this book will play an undeniable role in the development of the standard of living of the people in the economic and social activities of the Union under the Local Government (Union Parishad) Act, 2009.
Hopefully, if the implementation of the Five-year Development Plan will be beneficial for the implementation of SDGs of the government including reducing poverty, reducing poverty, creating new infrastructure, improving infrastructure, improving education and health services, reducing gender-based discrimination through creating self-employment opportunities for local people.
The Union Parishad Governance Project (UPJP), implemented by the Local Government Division, in connection with the formulation of the Five-year Development Plan, has tied us in gratitude through financial assistance. I would like to thank the UPJP authorities.
