An army formed for the protection of Bangladesh's internal security, law enforcement and conservation of Bangladesh Ansar. It is managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Ansar is basically an Arabic word which means that the person helps and especially those who emigrate to Muhammad from Mecca to Madina.
History
During the partition of India in 1947, some members of the Indian Guard, who later became Pakistani citizens, formed Ansar Bahini. In 1948, the Ansar Bahini was formed by the East Pakistan Ansar Act as the East Pakistan Ansar and formally started on February 2, 1948.
East of Independence
During the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, most Ansar members joined the Awami League-led freedom fighters guerilla to fight against the Pakistan army. After the independence of Bangladesh, Ansar Ahmadi was reconstructed by the Bangladesh law. President Ziaur Rahman's government nominated Ansar Bahini as the people's defense force with the importance of the role of Ansar Bahini.
